Here at Fundamazonia and Amazoneco we are dedicated to help save the Amazon though biodiversity conservation, supporting Indigenous and local cultures, and safeguarding historical heritage. The Fundamazonia-Amazoneco partnership led by Dr Richard Bodmer own and run the Rio Amazonas Research Station at the Yarapa River Research Reserve, and in Iquitos they own and run the Indigenous Cultures Museum, the Historic Boat Museum, and the Casa Morey Hotel.

Our preference is that you come and join us in Peru. But we realize that not everybody can make the journey and would still like to help with the research and conservation through a donation. Donations can be received by Fundamazonia and go towards the support of the local people with education, health, resource management and conservation projects, among other types of assistance.

Fundamazonia is a Peruvian based not-for-profit foundation dedicated to wildlife research and conservation, citizen science, education, and local communities. Amazoneco is a Peruvian company that runs the research station, museums, and hotel.
Our team of scientists and professionals is coordinated by Prof Richard Bodmer and his wife, Tula, who have been working in the Peruvian Amazon for over 4 decades.
Fundamazonia has received support from WWF, the G & B Moore Foundation, WCS, USAID, The Darwin Initiative, Chicago Zoological Society, FondAm, CIFOR, Operation Wallacea, Earthwatch Institute, among others.
The Fundamazonia team has over 150 scientific publications and during 35 years has had over 4,000 volunteer citizen scientists and students conducting research, collecting data, and working with local communities at the Rio Amazonas Research Station.
